The Paw Paw Young Wounded Minnow lure was first introduced in 1941. The antique lure is shown housed in a I Go For Lucky Lures Red box. This antique lure made in Paw Paw, Michigan, would go through a series of body and weight changes over its lifespan. Ranging in size from 2 1/”- 3 1/2″ in length this painted eye antique wooden lure was a Paw Paw Lure series model number 1500. The lure also has a bigger brother, a series 2500 Old Wounded Minnow, and the two can be differentiated by the number of hooks. The Young Wounded minnow having 2 trebles to secure its catch once caught, as well as a forward and aft revolving unmarked propellers. The antique lure was made to swim on its side and was Paw Paw’s version of the very popular lures, the Injured Minnow and SOS made by Creek Chub and Heddon respectively.
