Shakespeare Fisher Bait Lure

The Shakespeare Fisher Bait Lure was first introduced in 1940. The Shakespeare Bait Company from Kalamazoo Michigan gave this lure the model series number 6509. This wooden fishing fishing lure measures in at 3 3/4″ in length. This lure kinda stays within the same theme we see Shakespeare go with in the 1930’s.

The lure features a wooden tail an essentially is just a un-jointed Tantalizer fishing lure. The lure however was only made with the wooden pressed eyes. The lure features the same under painted keel fin. The antique lure has a notched mouth where the scripted dive plate is affixed using the forward line tie. This antique fishing lure features two treble hooks to secure it prey , one is forward of the keel the other is attached via screw eye in the center of the tail fin. The lure was available in a myriad color scheme finishes and came in the collector favorite photo finishes as well as some of the standard like yellow perch and Strawberry Spot as shown in the antique lure gallery below.
